The Beginning
The initial idea for Overknight is created.
2024
Early Prototyping
Early prototype development before settling on Godot. Different gameplay ideas and engines are tested during this period.
2025
Move to Godot
- Development moves fully to Godot 3.6
- Large optimisation improvements across the project
- Driving system redesigned
- Multiplayer systems begin development
- UI redesign
December 2025
First Public Pre-Alpha
The first public Pre-Alpha testing phase opens on Google Play, focused on early gameplay systems and cross-device performance.
June 2026
Publisher Preview Build
Overknight reaches a Publisher Preview stage — both VelocityVentures and ThunderRush are fully playable, running on a GLES3 graphics upgrade with new UI systems across every menu and HUD, plus semi controller support in gameplay.
July 4, 2026
Major Publisher Preview Patch
A sweeping update across both modes: reworked VelocityVentures spawning, aiming and combat feel, a full ThunderRush progression and handling overhaul, restyled menus throughout, and reduced ad frequency. See the full patch notes.
